Even though it seems like books and bookmarks are being replaced by e-readers, I felt the need to get another bookmark done for my stash. Since I love the Lizbeth Island Breeze, I dug out one of my favorite bookmark patterns found HERE, and whipped this one up in no time. Michelle also recently used this pattern for a great bracelet HERE. What is it about bookmarks? I think I love to tat them because they are a quick accomplishment!
So, I quick sewed up a few needlekeepers! And then tatted a short section of the bookmark pattern for one cover.
And then on with another heart pattern for another cover. Ah, something I can use these little motifs on! This is the Peacock Heart, and is done in Size 20 Lizbeth Tropical Punch.
So, I now have a little stash of needle keepers. Ha! I need one for every tatting bag, right?
Either that or everyone is getting one for Christmas!
I am a firm believer that one can never have too many bookmarks or needle keepers... great job!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! I love the island breeze needle keeper and that heart is next on my list. Theresa likes them too!
ReplyDeleteLove your needlekeepers! I tend to buy way more craft supplies than I need. Heck, I buy them when I DON'T need them!
ReplyDeleteI love bookmarks too. I had several family members trying to talk me into an electronic book reader during the holidays and I absolutely refused. I love the feel and smell of a real book and being able to dogear the pages if I want or put a post-it to mark a special passage. I really can't read much online comfortably anyway.
Sweet bookmark and motifs!!! And your little needle pouches! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you mean by crfating in bulk. I do the same. Your bookmark looks really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm using one of your bookmarks now to keep my place in a book my daughter wanted me to read (it's really good, too). I love the little needle keepers, especially with the tatting!
ReplyDeleteSuper idea for needle keepers! Nice tatting, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to share your tatting (if you gift them to friends) - or cheer up your tatting basket!
ReplyDeleteLovely needlekeepers, and what a lovely little presents. I love your bookmark and that colour thread is another lovely combination.

Your needlekeeps are very pretty, especially with the tatting. Hmm, it looks like just a few straight lines of sewing - I might be able to handle that :-)
ReplyDeleteThe bookmark looks really good, too. I keep making them but when I read I forget to use them!
Needle keepers are just great! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteI do not sew, so I cut a two inch piece of 1/4 inch ribbon, always red, cut the ends angled with a pair of pinking shears, and fold it over double. Works!
