| Jan Stawasz Doily XI - Round 10 |
While working these endless rounds of simple repeats, I found myself counting to the called for 17 ds, and then daydreaming into 18 . . . 19 . . . 20 . . . oops! Dang. Un-tat. There is a difference in having a good rhythm and getting into the rhythm a little too much!
I'm looking forward to the last two rounds - they are a repeat of rounds 2 and 3, and will be a pretty finish to this doily. I am committed to finishing this beauty before I start ANYTHING else :)
In the meantime, we are enjoying a few things from the garden. Well, OK, pretty much only basil and cilantro so far. Tomatoes aren't doing much, but I will buy them for my favorite summertime side salad. Caprese salad - sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil with a little balsamic vinegar reduction drizzled on top. Mmmmm.
I could eat this for breakfast! [Ok, sometimes I DO have tomato and mozzarella with basil on toast.]
The basil is growing well, however, I think I'm giving up on gardening for this year. Today when I checked on my green beans, I found that SOMEONE had a great snack overnight. So much for green beans this year. X!#$#%%!$#$#!!!
our green beans, swiss chard, lettuce and peas look very much like that. Bambi's family for some reason doesn't like to share.

DeleteI've seen the bunny in the garden, but there are deer tracks in the rows too. It's really a pretty small garden too, so I won't have much of anything at this rate! And thanks, the doily is a wonderful project at the moment!

DeleteYum! I'm tempted to learn to make some new recipes! That's how our beans and blueberries look, but it's bunnies, not Bambi, nibbling at our garden. Those rabbits seem to be everywhere this year!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing your Jan Stawasz doily completed. I've done the daydream counting many times. It's not too bad when it's chains, but I get very frustrated when I see that I've done it with rings... After they've been closed, of course!
Not sure if this is Thumper or Bambi . . . either would make a fine dinner according to hubby. There is evidence of both. Little buggers.
DeleteI wonder what nibbled the beans, if it was here in the UK I would say badgers or rabbits, more lightly to be the badger if I had them in my garden.

I hope the badgers stay in Wisconsin - I think there may be more of them near my folks' house! The tomatoes are wonderful with fresh basil and mozzarella :)
